  • Official transcripts sent directly to Nevada Board
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Pass ASWB Bachelor's examination ($230)
  • No post-graduation experience required

Licensed Master Social Worker

LMSW

Master's level entry license allowing advanced generalist practice with specialized knowledge application. Foundation for clinical and independent pathways.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Social Work from CSWE-accredited program
  • Official transcripts sent directly to Nevada Board
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Pass ASWB Master's examination ($230)
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • No initial post-graduation experience required

Licensed Independent Social Worker

LISW

Advanced non-clinical license allowing independent practice and unsupervised social work services. Requires substantial supervised experience.

Prerequisites:

  • Master's or Doctorate in Social Work from CSWE-accredited program
  • Current LSW license in good standing
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Complete supervised experience requirements
  • Board approval for examination eligibility

Experience Requirements:

• 3,000 hours of supervised social work experience
• Experience must be completed over 2-3 years minimum
• Supervised by approved supervisor
• Submit internship application to Nevada Board

Independent Practice Authority:

  • Independent social work practice at advanced level
  • Provide social work services without supervision

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Complete clinical supervised experience requirements
